Character & Leadership Developement

From local projects to national team competitions, the Boys & Girls Club has team building and achievement programs that teach members to overcome challenges and be creative. These programs help instill confidence and a sense of self-worth that will remain with the members for years to come.

Torch Club

Torch Club is developed to help meet the special character development needs of younger adolescents at a critical stage in their life. Members, ages 8 - 12, learn to elect officers and work together to implement activities in four areas: service to Club and community; education; health and fitness; and social recreation.

Keystone

This program is centered on giving teens the opportunity to gain valuable leadership and service experience. Keystone Club is responsible for planning teen nights, Club improvement projects, and community service work.

Youth of the Year

Since 1947, Youth of the Year has been Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s premier recognition program, celebrating the extraordinary achievements of Club members. The journey to being named National Youth of the Year begins locally, where each contestant must prepare three essays and a speech that is delivered to friends, family, and a panel of judges. From there, the winner progresses to state, regional and national levels.
